We believe that everyone deserves the same chance to access education, regardless their age, geographical location, gender, or experience therefore none of our courses have training prerequisites for successful learning. All courses we offer are designed for anyone who wants to get better at certain area of knowledge, improve their curriculum and deliver outstanding results. However, if you are new to the third sector we recommend you to first browse the information available on our website. This introductory knowledge will enable you to participate fully in our training courses. If you are interested in doing some more research before the training and deepen your understanding of the third sector please join one of our courses available in the Third Sector Academy learning platform.
To reward our learners we use digital badges. Badges are a great way to celebrate achievements and track progress. They can be awarded based on various criteria and displayed on a user's profile. Additionally, badges can be pushed to the user's public backpack, and displayed not only on Third Sector Academy user profile, but also on social media.
There are two categories of badges:
Site Badges: These are available to users across the entire site and are related to site-wide activities.
Course Badges: These are available to users enrolled in a specific course and awarded for completing a course.
To recognise our students commitment and accomplishments, we offer certificates upon course completion. These certificates not only celebrate learner's achievements but also serve as an evidence to their dedication and expertise in the third sector. By providing our learners with a digital certificate, we aim to support their career growth and acknowledge their contributions to making the world a better place. Certificates are available for registered learners on "My Certificates" page.
Why Digital Certificates Are Important
Verification and Credibility: Our digital certificates can be easily verified online, providing a reliable proof of skills and training to employers, educational institutions, and other organisations. This enhances volunteers and community and voluntary sector staff credibility and professional recognition.
Accessibility: Having a digital copy means that using the verification number anyone can access learner's certificate anytime, anywhere. This is especially useful when applying for jobs, volunteering opportunities, or further education, as student can quickly provide evidence of their learning.
Professional Recognition: Displaying a digital certificate on platforms like LinkedIn or professional portfolio helps showcase commitment to life-long learning, professional development the the sector. This can be a significant advantage in the competitive job market.
Environmental Impact: Digital certificates reduce the need for physical printing, aligning with sustainable practices and reducing environmental impact.
Durability: Unlike physical certificates, digital versions are not susceptible to damage or loss, ensuring that the achievements are preserved online.
When you obtain a license, you not only gain access to the course content but also have the flexibility to determine how many learners will be able to access the course. The number of users you choose will affect the final price of the license. It's important to note that sharing access with individuals beyond the agreed-upon number violates the terms and conditions of our service. Each user must possess their own valid license, username, and password to access the course content, participate in exercises, earn digital badges, and obtain the certificate. Sharing login credentials or licenses is strictly prohibited and violates the terms of service.

To log in to Third Sector Academy e-learning platform, follow these steps:
On the mobile device please download the mobile app.
Launch your preferred web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
Enter the URL: Click on https://thirdsectoracademy.com or type the URL of our e-learning site in the address bar and press enter. Alternatively, click on this address to go directly to the login page; both methods work fine.
Access the Login Page: Once the page loads, you should see the Third Sector Academy login page. The first page has our logo and name on it, and the second page contains only login fields.
Enter Your Username and Password: In the respective fields on the login page, enter your username (not email address associated with your account), and then enter your password. Before you change your password in the future, the system will ensure it meets the password policy requirements.
Click "Log in": After entering your credentials, click the "Log in" button to proceed.
Trust, or not: If you are using a computer that doesn't belong to you remove the tick from "Trust this device for 7 days".
Check your email: We use Multi-factor authentication (MFA)* also known as 2-step verification. Check your email for the 6-digit code. Also, check the spam box and mark the email as safe to ensure it is sent to your main inbox in the future.
Copy the code: Copy the code and paste it to the space provided. The code can only be used once and is valid for 30 mins.
Access Your Learning Dashboard: If your credentials are correct, you'll be directed to your dashboard, where you can view your enrolled courses, access course materials, participate in discussions, and more.
If you encounter any issues logging in, such as forgetting your password or encountering an error message, click on "Lost password?" on the login page to reset your password. To reset your password, submit your username or email address in the respective fields. If the e-learning system can find you in the database, an email will be sent to your email address with instructions on how to regain access. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security measure that requires users to verify their identity using two or more factors of authentication. Factors can be something users know, like a password, something they have, like a phone or security token, or something they are, like a fingerprint. MFA helps improve security of our Third Sector Academy platform because it is more difficult for hackers to compromise multiple factors.
At Third Sector Academy we use email as a second factor of authentication. This factor requires users to enter a code received via email during the login process. When a user attempts to log in, the system generates a unique, temporary code and sends it to the user’s registered email address. The user must then enter this code along with their password to successfully complete the login process. This code has a limited validity period, ensuring that it cannot be used for unauthorised access.
We also use Trust this device factor: This factor allows users to mark a device as trusted during MFA logins. Once a device is designated as trusted, users can bypass MFA for a period of 7 days when logging in from that device. Trust your device to allow your users to bypass MFA for a specified period of time after they have verified it with MFA for the first time.
